
Secretary of State Max Maxfield
Max Maxfield was elected Secretary of State in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. Secretary Maxfield is the State’s Chief Elections Officer, Securities Commissioner, Notaries Public Commissioner and Corporations Administrator. In addition, he serves in the capacity of Lieutenant Governor.
Secretary Maxfield served two terms as Wyoming State Auditor. He directed two cabinet level State Agencies (Wyoming Recreation Commission 2 years and Department of Commerce 5 years). He was a YMCA Executive Director for 23 years and Director of the Wyoming Make-A-Wish Foundation for 1 ½ years. He currently serves on the Hospice Board and the Board of Directors of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Max and his wife, Gayla, a clinical social worker, have four grown children and two grandchildren. Gayla and Max are members of the First United Methodist Church.
